How to Use an External DVD Burner on a Laptop

One of the limitations of laptops is that once you own one, it’s hard to add anything to it. And if you don’t have a DVD-RW drive, you’re restricted with having a media but you can add External DVD Burner to follow these steps.

  • Step 1: Place your DVD burner next to your laptop. Make sure the laptop machine is turned off.
  • Step 2: Find the USB port on a DVD burner. Usually, this can be found on the underside of the front panel of the DVD player. Use a USB cable to connect to this port.
  • Step 3: Find the USB connection on your laptop. It will usually be shaped like a rectangular port. When you connect the other end of the USB cable to this port, you will symbolically connect your laptop to your OS.
  • Step 4: Plug your DVD-ROM into the wall. Turn the laptop on, and it will boot up.
  • Step 5: Once your computer has started, it will automatically install the necessary drivers, and as soon as that’s done, it will work just like any other drive. You can use it just like any other drive and it will appear on your computer system.
